About us

Ljubljana Public Education Centre - Cene Štupar - CILJ is one of the biggest organizations in the field of adult education in Slovenia. The centre has been noticeable locally as well as regionally for its varied offer of formal and non-formal programmes for all generations for more than 50 years.

In the last ten years, it has developed greatly in the field of secondary education for adults, gained licences for assessing and certifying National Vocational Qualifications, widened and renewed the offer in the field of foreign language learning as well as teaching Slovenian to foreigners. It offers a wide variety of non-formal and publically valid programmes as trainings for life successfulness. It enables tuition-free finishing of primary school education to all adults and youths since it is financed by The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport.

The centre cooperates with The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, Slovenian Institute for Adult Education, the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational education and Training, the Ministry of the Internal Affairs, the National Employment Agency and many others. The centre carries out different programmes financed by the European Social Fund, the European Fund for the Integration of third-world nations as well as the European Refugee Fund.

Ljubljana Public Education Centre - Cene Štupar is a member of the Association of Slovenian Adult Education Centres and the Association of Educational Institutions. It also successfully cooperates with corporate entities and other organizations in its environment. It participates in public tenders and calls for proposals on a regular basis, as well as takes part in Slovenian and international projects.
